Replace the thermometer

Clip (UK and EU) or wing nut (US)

Assembly guide step 17 in reverse, then forward.

  1. With the kettle cold, lay the lid upside down on a soft surface.
  2. Find the fixing on the stem inside the lid: a push-on clip (UK and EU) or a wing nut (US).
  3. Hold the dial outside and pull the clip off, or unscrew the wing nut.
  4. Draw the old thermometer out through the bezel.
  5. Push the new one through the bezel with the dial upright.
  6. Refit the clip, or run the wing nut on finger-tight.
