Replace the lid handle and heat shield

Assembly guide step 16 in reverse, then forward. The manual: "Tighten hardware until it is secure. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN HARDWARE." No power drill.

  1. With the kettle cold, lay the lid upside down on a soft surface.
  2. Hold the handle and undo the 2 nuts inside the lid with the Weber plastic tool.
  3. Lift off the old handle and heat shield.
  4. Fit the new handle with the heat shield under the grip, studs through the lid holes.
  5. Fit a washer, then a nut, on each stud inside the lid. A US Premium has no washers.
  6. Tighten until secure with the plastic tool, then stop.
