Replace the brush each spring

A new stainless brush every spring

The manual's rule.

1. Look at the brush bristles before each cook.
2. Check the cooking grate for loose bristles before food goes on.
3. Replace the brush at once if you find any loose bristles.
4. Buy a new stainless-steel bristle brush at the start of every spring, even if it looks fine.
