Know the kettle
What is on the outside
Tap a part to see what it does. The names are Weber's: lid, lid hook, lid damper, bowl, tool hook handle, One-Touch, ash catcher.
"Left" and "right" in this guide are as you face the bowl handle and front leg. The lid is shown hung at the back right: Weber's drawings hang it on the right, and owners hang it anywhere on the rim.
What is inside
Everything inside lifts out without tools: the cooking grate and its insert, and the charcoal grate. The One-Touch blades stay in the bowl. Charcoal rails are not in the box (Weber sells them separately: fit them).
Black flakes inside the lid are carbon, not paint: see the lid carbon.
