Assemble it and check the hardware

Ring, legs, triangle and wheels

The assembly guide's order (8657900, the stand, up to the wheels in step 11). The free BILT app shows the same steps in 3D.

  1. Lay the lid upside down on the opened box and set the bowl upside down on it: a flat, level, soft surface.
  2. Fit the ash catcher ring: tabs up into the bowl slots, push down, turn to lock.
  3. Check each spring clip's button shows through its leg hole, then push the 3 legs into their sockets until they click.
  4. Hook the triangle into the front leg and fit the 2 wheel legs onto its rear bar, the axle.
  5. Slide a wheel onto each axle end, then a star hub cap, then an R-clip through the axle hole.
  6. Push the cap onto the front leg and turn the kettle upright.

US Premium (assembly guide 57858): the legs, triangle and 6 in wheels go together first, the push-on hub caps tapped home with a hammer while the other wheel rests on a wooden block; then the legs go into the upturned bowl.

Ash catcher, grates, handles and thermometer

The rest of the assembly guide, to step 19.

  1. Hang the ash catcher in the ring and squeeze the handle until it locks.
  2. Lay in the charcoal grate, then fit the cooking grate with its centre insert (step 14). No charcoal rails come in the box.
  3. Fix the bowl handle with its 1 Phillips screw (step 15). A US Premium has 2 bowl handles, front and back, each with its own screw.
  4. Fit the lid handle and heat shield: 2 nuts and 2 washers inside the lid, tightened with the Weber plastic tool (step 16). US: nuts only.
  5. Push the thermometer through the bezel and fit its clip inside the lid (step 17). A US grill has a wing nut instead.
  6. Put the lid on, then slide it to the side and hang it on the bowl by its lid hook (step 18).

The manual's last step: make sure every part is fitted and all hardware is tight before the first fire.
