Replace the lid handle and heat shield

Two nuts inside the lid

Assembly guide step 17 in reverse, then forward. The manual: "Tighten hardware until it is secure. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN HARDWARE." No power drill.

  1. With the kettle cold, lay the lid upside down on a soft surface.
  2. Hold the handle and undo the 2 nuts inside the lid with the Weber plastic tool.
  3. Lift off the old handle and heat shield.
  4. Fit the new handle with the heat shield under the grip, studs through the lid holes.
  5. Fit a washer, then a nut, on each stud inside the lid.
  6. Tighten until secure with the plastic tool, then stop.

Parts: the Master-Touch's own black handle is 67568 (UK service) or 60037 (US shop). Weber UK's shop sells 80672, a generic handle shown with a grey grip.
