The fire went out

• Both vents closed: that is how you put it out. Never close both while you cook (Weber UK).
• Ash smothering the fire: sweep before every cook.
• Charcoal on the bowl floor: the manual says always on the charcoal grate. Foil lining the bowl also blocks the air.
