Change the gas cylinder
Take the empty one out
The manual, UK and EMEA. Change cylinders outdoors, away from flames.
- Turn every knob off and let the grill cool.
- Close the cylinder valve, or the regulator lever on a clip-on type.
- Open the doors.
- Release the cylinder strap at its clasp inside the cabinet.
- Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder.
- Lift the cylinder out.
US: close the tank valve, unscrew the QCC1 coupling anticlockwise by hand, loosen the hand nut and lift the tank off the scale (US manual).
Fit the full one and test it
The manual: fasten the strap after connecting a new cylinder, and leak-test every time a cylinder is fitted.
- Check the new cylinder fits: 3 to 13 kg, up to 587 mm high, up to 318 mm across if round or 289 mm if square-based.
- Lift it in so its base sits flat in the support, valve to the front.
- Fasten the strap.
- Fit the regulator, hands only.
- Do the leak test on the regulator joint.
- Close the doors.
US: the collar's shape sets which of two ways the tank hangs on the scale. Lock it with the hand nut and screw the coupling on clockwise, hand-tight only (US manual).
