Brush across the ports

The manual and Weber UK's cleaning page. Cleaning is an owner job; taking the burners out is not (see burners).

1. With the grates, bars and deflectors out, look at the 4 burners.
2. Brush across the top of the ports with a clean stainless-bristle brush, never the one you use on the grates.
3. Never brush along the tube: that pushes dirt into the ports (Weber UK).
4. Work gently round each igniter electrode.
5. Leave the burners in place and clean between them (Weber UK).
6. When you next light it, the flame should be blue, darker at the base; yellow tips now and then are normal (the manual).
