Power: brick, switch, cord (no fuse)
Power faults: check the chain
There is no fuse on this grill. Traeger support: "D2 WiFIRE grills do not have fuses." The 2018 and 2019 manuals still tell you to take the controller off and check a fuse on its back; that does not apply to the Pro 780. Power goes outlet, cord, power brick under the hopper, main switch, controller (Traeger support).
- Check the outlet: reset the RCD or the breaker. Traeger support mentions a 15 or 20 A breaker.
- Check the cord is pushed fully into the socket under the hopper.
- Open the access panel and look at the power brick: a green light means it has power.
- Check the main power switch is on; it lights when on.
- Press the dial: the display may just be asleep.
- Still dead: contact Traeger support before you buy a brick (KIT0480) or switch (KIT0358).
Replace the brick, switch or cord
Main power switch off, cord unplugged, grill cold. The manual: "Disconnect the power cord before servicing the grill." Use a hand screwdriver, not a power drill: Traeger support says power tools strip these screws.
Traeger support's "Power Brick Replacement" and "Power Switch Replacement" articles; follow the article for your part.
- Unplug the grill.
- Open the hopper access panel.
- Power brick: remove the 2 screws on its U-bracket, unplug it and fit the new one (KIT0480).
- Switch: squeeze its clips to free it, and move its 3 wires to the new switch (KIT0358).
- Cord: the US cord is KIT0257. The UK cord's number is not published: ask Traeger Europe support.
- Refit the panel and test.
