Traeger Pro 780 Maintenance Guide
Traeger Pro 780
The Traeger Pro 780 with the D2 drivetrain and WiFIRE controller: a wood-pellet grill with a hopper on the right that feeds pellets by auger into a firepot under the barrel. It is the bigger Pro: the same grill as the Pro 575 with a barrel 203 mm (8 in) longer, 780 sq in of grates, 17,500 BTU, and two swivel casters on the legs at the chimney end. This generation launched in 2019; the UK model is TFB78GLEC (black), the US one TFB78GLE, and a bronze TFB78GZE exists.
Traeger writes one owner's manual and one assembly guide for the Pro 575 and 780. Everything follows that UK/EU owner's manual (DOC419-A), called "the manual" here, with the assembly guide (DOC433) and Traeger's support articles where they add detail. Owner and retailer methods are named where they are used.
Traeger gives the height as 1382 mm (54.4 in), 36 mm more than the Pro 575, although the legs, wheels and chimney are the same parts; the 3D model keeps the Pro 575's 1346 mm until a real grill is measured.
Outdoors only, never in a garage or any enclosed space (carbon monoxide). Keep it at least 45.7 cm (18 in) from anything that burns and 102 cm (40 in) below any overhang, on level, non-combustible ground. Plug it into an earthed outlet protected by an RCD (the manual says GFCI, the US name for the same device).
