Induction fan

Clean or replace the induction fan

Main power switch off, cord unplugged, grill cold. The manual: "Disconnect the power cord before servicing the grill." Use a hand screwdriver, not a power drill: Traeger support says power tools strip these screws.

Traeger support. On D2 grills the fan runs on and off at changing speeds by design. A click is usually a wire touching the blades; a shriek is a failed bearing.

  1. Open the hopper access panel.
  2. Spin the fan by hand, clean off any grime, and pull any wires clear of the blades.
  3. To replace it, take the controller off and unplug the fan.
  4. Unscrew the fan (Phillips).
  5. Fit the new fan (KIT0411), plug it in and refit the controller.
  6. Tie the wires away from the fan and refit the panel.
