Assemble it
Legs and braces
Outdoors only, never in a garage or any enclosed space (carbon monoxide). Keep it at least 45.7 cm (18 in) from anything that burns and 102 cm (40 in) below any overhang, on level, non-combustible ground. Plug it into an earthed outlet protected by an RCD (the manual says GFCI, the US name for the same device).
The assembly guide's pictures. You need a helper: "you will need two people to lift the grill". Work on a clean, flat surface.
- Take everything out of the barrel: grates, drip tray, heat baffle, chimney, handles, bucket and probe.
- With your helper, lay the grill on its back on the packing.
- Offer up the 2 wheeled legs at the hopper end, each with 2 button-head bolts (5/16"-18) and a washer under each bolt head.
- Inside, fit a washer, a spring washer and a nut on each bolt. Hold the bolt with the hex key and tighten the nut with the spanner.
- Fit the 2 fixed legs at the chimney end the same way.
- Fit the 2 leg braces with 4 Phillips bolts (1/4"-20 × 0.6 in) each.
Stand it up and fit the rest
The assembly guide.
- With your helper, stand the grill up. Push the power cord into the socket under the hopper.
- Fit the chimney pipe on the left end with 2 Phillips bolts and washers, then screw on the cap.
- Fit the side lift handle on the left end with 2 bolts and washers, with an insulation washer between the handle and the steel at each bolt.
- Fit the lid handle the same way: 2 bolts, washers and insulation washers.
- Inside, set the heat baffle on its brackets over the firepot, then the drip tray on its ledges sloping to the grease drain, then the main grate and the upper grate on its rear hooks.
- Hang the grease bucket on its hook, and check the honeycomb safety grate in the hopper is in place (2 screws). Then season it.
