It runs too hot or too cool
Too hot (Traeger support): the heat baffle or drip tray not seated, or holed; the chimney cap too high; a start with the lid open. On SMOKE, 71 to 82 °C (160 to 180 °F) is normal, and an average within 8 °C (15 °F) of the setting is correct.
Too cool or slow to heat: cold weather and wind; poor pellets; food within 2.5 cm (1 in) of the barrel sides. On HIGH the Pro 22 levels out at about 218 to 232 °C (425 to 450 °F): Traeger says anything over 204 °C (400 °F) is "functioning as designed".
