Induction fan

Clean or replace the induction fan

Power switch off, cord unplugged, grill cold. The manual: "Disconnect the power cord before servicing the grill." Use hand tools, not a power drill (Traeger support).

Traeger support, "Diagnosing Induction Fan Issues on a Non-WiFi Grill" and "How to Replace an Induction Fan for Non-Connected Grills". The AC fan is white and runs all the time the grill is on, with a soft hum.

  1. Remove the bottom grate under the hopper.
  2. Spin the fan by hand. Pull out anything touching the blades (often a cable tie) and clean off grime with compressed air or a damp rag.
  3. To replace it, unplug the white plug on its orange and white wires.
  4. Remove its 4 screws with a 1/4 in nut driver and lower it out.
  5. Fit the new fan (KIT0019) the same way round, blowing towards the barrel, and plug it in.
  6. Tie the wires clear of both fans and refit the grate.
