Hopper vacuum and sawdust

Vacuum the hopper

The manual, page 24: sawdust at the bottom of the hopper causes temperature swings and failed starts, so clear it regularly.

  1. Switch off, unplug and let the grill cool.
  2. Empty the pellets through the clean-out door.
  3. Vacuum the sawdust from the hopper and round the auger inlet, through the pellet guard. Leave the guard in place.
  4. If you find wet or swollen pellets, see the auger is jammed.
  5. Close the door and refill with dry pellets.
