Heat baffle: the adaptor kit

A new heat baffle, and the adaptor kit

Traeger support, "Heat Baffle Adaptor Kit". Pro 22 grills made before spring 2023 have a flat-topped box baffle (BCA012); later ones have the curved "mustache" baffle KIT0450, the Pro 575's. The adaptor kit lets an older grill take the new baffle. The model shows the kit fitted: two brackets either side of the firepot and the mustache baffle sitting in them (their sizes are judged from Traeger's support photos).

1. Check which baffle you have: a flat top with folded sides is the box baffle.
2. Open the lid and lift out the grates, the drip tray and the old baffle.
3. Order the replacement: the box baffle KIT0782 (out of stock at Traeger US on 12 Oct 2026), or the mustache baffle KIT0450 with the adaptor kit KIT0897.
4. Fit the kit's 4 brackets with its 2 screws (Phillips) as the kit's sheet shows, then sit the new baffle on them over the firepot. A box baffle needs no brackets.
5. Refit the drip tray and grates.
6. Season it again after a new baffle (Traeger support).
