Covers, rain and winter
Covers, rain and cold
The manual and Traeger support.
- Cover the grill when you are not using it, and only when it is cool (cover BAC503, the same as the Pro 575's).
- Never store the cover under the grill. Wipe it clean; do not machine-wash it (Traeger support).
- Rain and light snow are fine to cook in, but keep the cord and any extension-cord joint out of water and snow (the manual).
- Use an extension cord only if it is outdoor-rated, earthed and No. 14 AWG (the manual).
- In cold weather expect slower starts, more pellets and cooler running. Shelter it from wind. Below 0 °C (32 °F), Traeger's insulation blanket (BAC626) helps: use it at 177 °C (350 °F) or lower and not with the front shelf fitted (Traeger support).
- Below −29 °C (−20 °F) the display may be damaged (the manual).
