A code on the display
LEr and HEr: the two alarms
The manual, page 21. These are the only two codes the manual lists.
- LEr (low temperature; the manual prints "LeR"): below 49 °C (120 °F) for 10 minutes. The auger, fan and hot rod stop until you switch off at the rocker. Let it cool, then remove all pellets and ash from the firepot and barrel before you restart. Causes: out of pellets, a jam, wet pellets, a bad start, wind or cold.
- HEr (high temperature): above 288 °C (550 °F). Everything stops. Let it cool and clean it (a grease fire is likely), check the baffle and drip tray are seated and not holed, and the RTD is not touching anything. HEr well below 550 °F: contact Traeger support.
Other codes, and a strange display
Traeger support's articles for grills without Wi-Fi. They do not say which of these the Digital Pro can show; the first four are certain.
- Err or Er1: the RTD's connection. Take the controller out, loosen the green terminal block, reseat both white wires and tighten.
- Er2: the RTD has failed: replace it (KIT0779).
- −41 at start-up: the RTD, or else the controller.
- ---, 888, missing segments, or a code that stays after unplugging: the controller; contact Traeger support.
- Display flashes on and off: the dial is on SHUT DOWN CYCLE. Turn it to SMOKE.
- Blank: no power: the fuse first.
- If your display shows Er3 or Er5 (hot rod unplugged), Er4 (fan unplugged) or Er6 (auger motor): reseat that plug, then replace the part.
