The burner roars

The burner roars, or there is fire in the tube

The oven should run quietly. A roar means the burner did not light properly, or the flame is burning back inside the tube (flashback). The Essentials Guide: switch the gas off for 5 minutes and relight, slowly. The manual: if the burner is blocked, turn the knob off and clean it; if the pressure dropped while lighting, make sure the tank valve is fully open, then relight. Incorrect lighting can overheat and damage the oven.
