Cook for a crowd
Two and three levels on the 52 cm grid
The LeChef's selling point is room. Monolith's 2019 FAQ (written before the Pro 2.0) counts whole pork necks of 2 to 2.5 kg for pulled pork:
- Level 1, the stainless grid: 4 to 5 necks (the Classic takes 3).
- Level 2, two half-moon grates (an accessory): 4 to 5 more.
- Level 3, the extra grid: 3 to 4 more. Monolith sells a LeChef third-level grid, 201038.
- Owners have sent Monolith photos of over 40 kg of neck cooked at once.
- Swap the necks between levels now and then: the FAQ says the levels differ little in heat, but with so much cold meat the outer pieces cook faster than those in the middle.
On the Pro 2.0, the Smart Grid System's ring sets the height of the half grates (the quick start guide), so you can cook on two levels with the parts in the box.
