The cap moves when I open it

The cap slides open when I lift the lid

The cap is on the wrong way round. The manual: push it on so the lettering faces the front, over the thermometer; then the slide does not open by itself when the lid lifts. A grease film after a few cooks also stiffens it (2019 FAQ).
