Light the charcoal

The manual's method.

1. Fill lumpwood charcoal straight into the firebox, at most up to the joint between firebox and fire ring, with no small pieces at the bottom. The Junior has no basket in the box; the optional basket 201046-J sits on the grate.
2. Light it from the top with 1 or 2 natural firelighters.
3. Close the lid.
4. Open the draft door and the cap fully. The chimney effect heats it fast: "ready in 10 minutes" (Monolith).
5. Stay near and start closing down before you reach your target (next job).

Monolith gives no charcoal amount for the Junior; its 2.5 to 3 kg for 24 hours is for the Classic.
