Every cook: ash out with the hook

Rake the ash out through the draft door

The manual (ash hook) and the quick start guide (it shows an ash shovel). The Junior has no ash catcher: the ash falls through the charcoal grate to the base floor and the protector stone.

1. Wait until the grill and the charcoal are cold.
2. Open the lid and lift out the grid, and the deflector if it is in, so you can reach the charcoal.
3. Stir the old charcoal with the ash hook so loose ash falls through the grate.
4. Open the draft door fully.
5. Stand a metal bucket under the draft door.
6. Rake the ash forward and out through the draft door with the ash hook (201063).
