Cook indirect: the deflector on its lift

Fit the deflector stone on its lift

The quick start guide: "For Junior, place ceramic heat deflector stone in the lift frame and rest on the fire ring." The stone and lift are item 201024, in the box.

1. Fit the deflector before the fire is hot, or wear heat-resistant gloves.
2. Open the lid and lift the grid out with the grid lifter.
3. Set the deflector stone into its wire lift (the spacer).
4. Stand the lift on the fire ring, its 3 feet hooked over the ring.
5. Lay the grid on the lift's upper hooks. It now sits about 4 cm higher, over the stone.
6. For direct grilling, take the lift and stone out and lay the grid straight on the fire ring.
