Check the hinge wing nuts

Keep the wing nuts tight

The two wing nuts are all that hold the lid's pins in the hinge. The manual loosens them anticlockwise to lift the lid off; this check is that in reverse (this guide's reading, not a Monolith step).

1. Let the grill go cold.
2. Open the lid fully, so the springs are relaxed.
3. Turn both wing nuts clockwise by hand until they are firm. Hand-tight only: no tool.
4. Close the lid slowly and check that it sits square and does not wobble.
