Treat rust

Rust on the bands, hinge, top vent and stand

Kamado Joe Europe's dealer notes (Classic II), with the Joe Jr.'s stand and cast-iron vent added.

1. On stainless parts (the springs, the draft door) it is mostly quick surface rust: polish it away with chrome polish.
2. Rust under the black powder coat: brush it away with a brass brush.
3. Wipe the area clean and let it dry.
4. Paint it with black Hammerite: bands, hinge and stand.
5. On the cast-iron top vent, see the top vent.
6. If it keeps coming back, claim: metal and cast-iron parts have a 5-year warranty.
