Stand: check and treat

Check the stand

Kamado Joe gives no care for the stand beyond its part number (KJ-MC13) and the 5-year metal warranty. This check is ours.

1. Check the egg sits level in the hoop, draft door to the front.
2. Look over the welds where the three legs meet the hoop and the floor ring, and at the two carry loops.
3. To see under the egg, lift it out with two people: it sits loose in the stand.
4. Check the three spokes and their rubber pads still carry the egg bottom evenly.
5. Treat rust as on the bands.
6. Replace a bent or cracked stand: KJ-MC13.
