Steps marked "the manual" are from Kamado Joe's Joe Jr. manual, February 2024 edition (9804190028 240207-GH), checked against the 2020 (200904-GH) and 2021 (210623-GH) editions. Kamado Joe publishes no Joe Jr. maintenance video, sheet or support page. Where a step is carried over it says from where: Kamado Joe Europe's dealer notes (2021, written for the Classic II), Kamado Joe's Classic manuals, videos and its 2012 Classic I guide, or owners. Steps marked "our method" or "our reading" are ours. Nothing here was checked on a grill.
Not settled, and flagged where they appear: band, hinge and thermometer fastener sizes; the hinge pivot and the hinge-holding hardware; how the ash leaves a grill with no drawer; the gasket kit length and the glue; how the top vent sits on the chimney; front pins on the bands; the carrying advice (the manual against Kamado Joe's photos); and the weight (68 lb in 2014, 82.5 lb today). Kamado Joe has no frozen-lid or wet-grill advice.
Sizes are Kamado Joe's: 505 mm wide and 691 mm high on the stand, 13.5 in (34 cm) grate, 37.4 kg today (30.8 kg on the 2014 spec sheet).
