Kontrol Tower gasket and sticking

If the Kontrol Tower spins, falls off or sticks

The tower has no screws: it sits on the dome's chimney on a mesh gasket (9004200035) that, Kamado Joe Europe says, "keeps the top vent in place and prevents it from spinning or falling off".

1. Wait until the grill is cold.
2. Lift the tower off the chimney. Kamado Joe gives no step-by-step: look how yours sits first.
3. If it spins, pinch the mesh gasket to widen it a little (Kamado Joe Europe).
4. If that does not hold it, fit a new top vent gasket, 9004200035.
5. If it sticks, wash it with warm soapy water, top and underside, and work it gently while the grill is warm. Never force it cold (owners of other kamados).
6. Refit it and check it turns without lifting or spinning loose.
