Gaps, cracks and broken panels
Gaps between the walls are normal. Kamado Joe's FAQ: they come from expansion and contraction, and are not a concern unless they hurt performance. Ash fills them over time.
A broken piece is replaced on its own. Kamado Joe Europe: "you only replace the piece that is broken". Wall KJ-MPFBSIDE23 (sold singly), base KJ-MPFBBASE23. Ceramic has a lifetime warranty for the original buyer.
Hairline cracks that leave a panel standing: Kamado Joe gives no rule. Our reading of its FAQ is that these are normal; a panel broken through is a warranty claim.
Change a panel
The assembly order in reverse, with Kamado Joe Europe's fix for a wobbly base.
With the grill cold, lift out the grates, deflectors and Divide & Conquer rack.
Lift off the stainless ring.
Lift out the broken wall (all 5 walls and the fire grate to change the base).
If the base wobbles on the uneven floor of the grill, put a washer or a wood chip under it (Kamado Joe Europe).
Stand the new wall on the base, then pull each wall in under the ring, using its hole.
