Draft door and ash drawer

Free a sticking drawer or door

Kamado Joe gives no method beyond emptying the ash; steps 2 and 3 are common owner practice, with no proper source found.

  1. With the grill cold, pull the ash drawer straight out through the draft-door opening.
  2. Clear ash from the slot and the drawer runners.
  3. Check the draft door slides freely from end to end.
  4. Slide the drawer back, handle lined up with the opening.
  5. Replace a bent drawer (KJ-AC23) or door (KJ-DD23).
