Stand-alone grill rocks
The stand-alone grill rocks when you open the dome
The stand-alone Big Joe II (BJ24NRHC) sits on 4 ceramic feet (KJ-CFR, the manual's "CERAMIC FEET (4)"); the model here is the cart version, so the feet are not drawn.
- Where they go: "24 inch grills… use 2 feet in the front and 2 feet in the back" (Stove Parts Unlimited, the Kamado Joe parts dealer).
- Why it rocks: the feet are too close together. Space them "appropriately so the grill does not rock when opening/closing the dome" (the same dealer). As the dome opens its weight swings back over the hinge, so the back pair matters most.
- Check the surface: a level, solid, non-combustible base.
