Unbox and set it up

Choose where it stands

Outdoors only. Gozney certifies the Roccbox for outdoor use only. Never cover the oven mouth: it is the only way out for the fumes, and they contain carbon monoxide (the manual).

  1. Use it outdoors only: never in a tent, garage, vehicle, caravan, boat, under a balcony or deck, or on a small enclosed balcony (2016 book).
  2. Stand it on a level, non-combustible surface clear of debris (2016 book).
  3. Keep it 3 m (10 ft) from buildings, structures and other gas cylinders.
  4. Keep anything that burns at least 45 cm (18 in) from the mouth and the burner.
  5. Keep flammable liquids 7.5 m (25 ft) away (every edition).
  6. Turn the back of the oven into the wind. A wind break must stand more than 45 cm away (2016 book).

Legs out and burner on

The manual's pictures (2023 and 2024 editions), with the twist direction from the 2016 book.

  1. Check every part for damage. If the stone arrives cracked, photograph it and contact Gozney before you use the oven (help centre).
  2. Lift the oven out of the box by the velcro strap, then take the strap off: it is single-use.
  3. Lay the oven on its back and unfold the 3 legs.
  4. Offer the gas burner up to the bayonet fitting, then push and twist it anticlockwise.
  5. Stand the oven on its legs.
  6. Register it within 60 days. The serial number is on the data plate underneath.
