Light it and turn it off
Light the gas burner
Outdoors only. Gozney certifies the Roccbox for outdoor use only. Never cover the oven mouth: it is the only way out for the fumes, and they contain carbon monoxide (the manual).
- Check the burner is clean and fitted, the leak test has passed and the mouth is clear.
- Open the cylinder valve.
- Push the control dial in and turn it anticlockwise: the spark lights the burner (2016 book).
- Only if your burner has a flame failure device: keep the dial pressed in for up to 60 seconds after it lights (Australian manual).
- If it does not light, turn the dial off and wait 5 minutes before you try again (2016 book).
- Set the flame with the dial: high to heat up, lower to hold.
Turn it off, and if the flame goes out
The manual and the 2016 book.
- Close the cylinder valve first.
- Let the flame burn off the gas left in the hose, about 2 minutes.
- Push the dial in and turn it clockwise to the vertical (off) position.
- Take the regulator off the cylinder and keep it out of direct sun.
- Leave the oven where it stands: it stays hot for a few hours. Never move or cover it hot.
If the flame goes out while you cook (wind, an empty cylinder): If the flame goes out, gas may still be flowing: turn the control dial off and close the cylinder valve at once, then wait 5 minutes before you relight (the manual).
