Flue check

Check the flue

Gozney gives no Gen 2 flue-cleaning method or interval. This check is this guide's reading of the manual's warning that soft woods "produce creosote which can build up in your burner and oven".

  1. Let the oven go cold.
  2. Take the flue top off.
  3. Look inside the pipe and the top for soot or creosote (tarry deposits).
  4. Check the collar's rain guard still sits about 3 mm above the oven top.
  5. Burn only kiln-dried hardwood, which makes far less creosote.
  6. Replace any damaged part: collar PM2068, pipe PM2056, top PM2067, rain cap PM2055.
