Connect the gas

Cylinder, regulator and hose

The manual (pp. 39 to 44). Use a propane or LPG cylinder with a safety collar, at least 9 kg (20 lb) and ideally over 13 kg, upright and outdoors, never rusty or dented. Use only the regulator supplied, or one Gozney approves. Natural-gas ovens (US and Canada) must be installed by a licensed gas fitter.

  1. Close the cylinder valve and check the control dial is off.
  2. Take the cap off the gas inlet and check it is clean and undamaged.
  3. Pull back the collar on the hose coupler, push it onto the gas inlet and let go: the collar should spring back freely.
  4. Fit the regulator by hand. UK click-fit: lever horizontal, press the button, place it on the cylinder, release, then lever vertical. Screw-fit (US, Germany): line up the threads and tighten by hand; never force it.
  5. Lay the hose with no twists, away from hot surfaces and sun. It must be no longer than 1.5 m.
  6. Do the leak test before you light it.
