The display is blank or shows ---

• ---: no probe connected. Take the plastic cap off the jack and plug it into the back of the display (the manual, p. 26).
• Blank: flat batteries. Fit 2 × AA under the one-screw cover, then hold power for 3 seconds.
• Turns itself off: Tom's Guide found it switches off after a while. Gozney gives no time for this.
