Treat rust

Rust on the bands, hinge and Nest

BGE Europe's maintenance page for steps 1 and 2; Big Green Egg names no rust treatment or touch-up paint.

1. Wash the bands, hinge and Nest with soapy water (BGE Europe).
2. Spray the moving parts with WD-40 or silicone spray, a few times a year (BGE Europe).
3. Brush loose rust off with a wire brush (owner method).
4. Touch up bare steel with a rust-stopping black paint (owner method).
5. Replace rusted band nuts and bolts with hardware pack 003201, springs off first.
