The dome is frozen shut

The wet gasket has frozen. BGE US: "never force it open". Big Green Egg gives no way to free it; owners wait for a thaw or light a small fire through the draft door (owner report). To prevent it, prop the lid slightly open or wrap foil round the gasket before a freeze (BGE US).
