Replace the springs

Fit a new pair of springs

The 2020 Medium manual's pictures (steps 7b and 7c) and the US parts list. BGE has no spring-tension adjustment: worn springs are replaced as a pair.

1. Open the dome fully, helper holding it.
2. Take both old springs off.
3. Check the studs and hinge plates are straight and tight.
4. Hook on the new Medium pair, 120038, one each side of the hinge.
5. Push the 4 caps onto the spring studs (Medium manual step 7c).
6. Close and open the dome: it should stay open on its own.
