Clean the outside, rEGGulator and hinge

Glaze, rEGGulator and hinge

BGE UK and BGE Europe. They differ only on the soap.

  1. Let the EGG cool.
  2. Wipe the glaze with a soft cloth, warm water and a little washing-up liquid; no bleach or abrasive cloths (BGE UK).
  3. Rub the rEGGulator with vegetable oil or Crisco, ideally while still slightly warm (BGE Europe).
  4. Spray the hinge's moving parts with WD-40 or silicone spray, and wash the steel with soapy water, a few times a year (BGE Europe).
  5. Keep food and grease off the gasket (owners).
  6. Leave the black inside the dome: BGE Europe says it is normal and harmless.
